A pre-Resident Evil 1 beta is available, thanks to the fans
The beta of the first game played slightly differently than the finished product and had a different cast of characters.
Before Resident Evil 2 became a finished product, there were many changes. Claire Redfield, the younger sister of Chris Redfield (the male protagonist of the first game), replaced Elza Walker, who was also a college student. The same thing applies to the first Resident Evil title which was released on the PlayStation and the PC in 1996, followed by a release on the Sega Saturn in 1997. Capcom also released Resident Evil: Director’s Cut for the PlayStation that same year, then re-released it in 1998 when Sony released the Dual Shock controller.
When you start the game, you have the option of choosing either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine.
