About Me — Can Hoang Tran
I’m a “let the chips lie where they fall” person.
My name is Can, which is my Vietnamese name. I don’t often give out my real name because it’s a common name and it gets annoying, too, because people keep trying to find me. I have known about Medium for a couple of years because some of my online acquaintances contribute or used to contribute to the platform.
The Journey From Helium To Medium
In the Spring of 2021, I took the plunge and joined Medium and that was my return to online writing.
I started my journey in 2007 when I came across a content platform called Helium and it was good while it lasted until it went defunct in 2014. This was my “school of hard knocks” because this was the first time I submitted anything to an online publication let alone get paid for it.
From Helium, I learned about Associated Content and also contributed to them. It was good while it lasted, too, before it changed ownership a few times and went defunct.
I joined HubPages where I started being active again.
Other platforms that I have contributed to were NowPublic, GroundReport, Bubblews, Digital Journal, The News Hub, and Moosin.
