In 1994, Midway published a 2.5D fighting game that was reminiscent of its popular Mortal Kombat franchise. The game had Fatalities, though they were watered down, which sparked the nostalgia of loyal Mortal Kombat fans. This game would somewhat turn into a franchise that is better known today as Killer Instinct.

The story of the series centers on the titular tournament hosted by UltraTech which wishes to test out its weapons against the skilled fighters of this planet. UltraTech unleashes a combat android named Fulgore, a raptor-human hybrid named Riptor, a living fireman named Cinder, and an animated skeletal warrior named Spinal. These four fighters are biological weapons created by UltraTech to showcase its combat superiority.

UltraTech’s f–kery unleashes two demigods, Eyedol and Gargos, into our world.

Black Orchid and Jago, long-lost siblings, band together and build a resistance against UltraTech as a result. One of their trusted friends and allies is a former professional boxer, T.J. Combo (who was my main whenever I play Killer Instinct).
