Experiencing Free Play ’24 — Kickin’ It With The MK Krew

I learned of their experiences as martial arts competitors, Mortal Kombat mocap actors, and TMNT stuntmen.

If you’re a fighting game fan, especially the old-school Mortal Kombat titles (before the developers switched to polygons and CGI), you would be in for a treat if you attended Free Play Florida (FPF) 2024. The event had several special guests such as Ed Smith, one of several people I interviewed throughout this three-day gaming event.

As I mentioned, I wanted to arrive at the event early enough.

But I do after-school pick-up at my Taekwondo (TKD) dojang. It was supposed to be early release day on November 22, Day 1 of FPF, but it became a regular full day because of Hurricane Milton in October.

The important part is that I still made it to the event.
