Exploring Central Florida Comic Con 2025 — Q&A With Dante Basco
Dante built a career of on-screen acting, voice acting, directing, producing, and writing. He is one of the iconic AAPI entertainers of the 21st century.
The final panel of Day 3 at Central Florida Comic Con 2025 (CFCC 2025) on January 19 focused on actor Dante Basco. I wanted to attend the panel for many reasons, such as Dante being one of the iconic AAPI performers in the US arts & entertainment industry. I waited in line at Dante’s booth roughly a half-hour before his panel and talked with him for a few minutes before getting a selfie. I brought up his roles in Fist of the North Star and Hook, respectively Bat and Rufio, where he gets killed near the end.
Dante laughed and joked, “They’re always wanting to kill me.” Then, I brought up a couple of mutual acquaintances.
He is famously known for voicing Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Jake Long in American Dragon.
