Visiting The 2024 Orlando Japan Festival In Kissimmee
You don’t have to fly to Japan when you can experience facets of the culture in Kissimmee.
I debated whether or not to travel to Kissimmee for the 2024 Orlando Japan Festival because of the distance and the many crazy drivers in Florida. The drive wasn’t bad, as I opted to travel via US 17 instead of I-4, which is still ranked as the most dangerous highway in the United States. This means I’m right NOT to want to travel on that road ever.
We SERIOUSLY need more high-speed rail access because we can’t keep expanding I-4.
Getting to Kissimmee wasn’t as bad as I thought, though the drive was relatively long. The one thing that pissed me off was Google Maps recalculating my route in the middle of driving. I managed to arrive a few minutes after the festival started and it’s even better that I found a parking space that was a few minutes from the venue.
The festival was held at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park which is beautiful.
I’m glad that Hurricane Milton didn’t damage the park which reminded me of parts of my county that remain flooded and unpumped.
I casually walk toward the entrance of Kissimmee Lakefront Park and it’s vibrant. I hear the Japanese taiko getting louder…
